Applications

You may install the following applications on your office or home PC. Do not attempt to install any of these on the lab-computers yourself. If you would like to have a particular application installed on the lab-computers (either for Linux or for Windows), please contact support staff. Unless indicated otherwise the applications below are intended to run on the Windows platform.

Freeware

EDF+ Checker EN zip

Tool built in C# to check a common EEG filetype (EDF+) against a logged archive of stimuli. It allows for an action-chain configuration. Each action is then performed on pairs of files to repair, check, and/or fix the EDF+ files. Meant to work with EDF+ (European Data Format+) and Presentation-log files but has features that can fix BioTrace Software (v2012) induced problems with exporting correct EDF+ annotations.

The software is released under an open source license and the scource files can be found at the github page.

 

Instruction: download the .zip and extract at a convenient location. Run the .exe to start the tool.

Requirements: Windows OS running .NET environment  v4.5 or higher.

Current stable version: v1-beta4 (released 2015.02.18)

ILS Labs Video Coding System EN html

Program for recoding videos recorded in the Babylab or similar settings and easily exporting recorded data to a csv file.

backup of CF recorder files EN zip

backup of required (unique PMD670.EDL) config files for CF recorder 1 & 2, in case it accidentally gets deleted. Must be placed in rootdir of internal SD card of the selected recorder.

BioTrace/Nexus Screens EN zip

The BioTrace software is used by the Nexus physiological-recording equipment to record data. A set of custom ‘Screens’ have been created by ILS personel and can be downloaded.

In order to install the screens simply copy the UiL-OTS folder within the archive to the %install_directory%/Screens.

Proprietary software

The software in this category is available to ILS staff only, under a site license. Do not redistribute this software to others. Remove the application from your computer as soon as you are done with it. The software in this category is password-protected; contact the Lab Managers to obtain a password.

BrainVision Analyzer 2.2.0 EN exe

BV Analyzer. Analysis program for EEG data.

Note: if you perform this installation on a solisPC, downloads will go to your Temp directory, and you can’t run installers from there. So move the installers to a different location before running them. You may also need to right-click installers and choose ‘Run as administrator’.

  1. Install .NET 4.0 and DirectX 9c.
  2. Install the latest version of the Dongle driver (7.54).
  3. If you are working at the institute using the network license, download hasplm.ini and put it in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Aladdin Shared\HASP (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Aladdin Shared\HASP on 32-bit Windows XP).
  4. Install BV Analyzer 2.2.0.
  5. If you are working at the institute using the network license, download the network license file and put it in c:\windows\syswow64 (C:\Windows\System32 on 32-bit Windows XP).
  6. Install the extension to the license that will enable you to read in .bdf data. If you are working at the institute using the network license: Install the BDF extension for the network license. If you are working from home using a dongle: Install the .bdf extension for the lab dongle or Jos’s dongle.
  7. Optionally you can install solutions . This will add useful macros and sorts to BV analyzer.
  8. Restart your computer.

tempo script for Praat EN html

This praat script can determine the tempo of a speech fragment expressed in syllables per second, or as average time per syllable. It uses intensity information rather than manually coded syllable boundaries, saving a lot of time. Adapted from De Jong, N.H. & Wempe, T. (2009) by Hugo Quené

Video converter script (Babylab) EN html

This script can be used to convert .mpg videos to .mp4. .mp4 can then be used to code looking times offline. Instructions on how to use this file (.sh) can be found in the recoding video’s how-to.
